Where We Begin
Mainely Wild is a small, family-run operation rooted in the forests of Downeast Maine. We live and work on the same land we harvest from — a 60-acre stretch of boreal woodland shaped by salt air, long winters, and the slow rhythm of the seasons.
This is where we raise our son Bear, where Ryan and I spend our days among the trees, and where everything we create begins.
Fir & Birch
Two trees define this landscape and everything we do.
Balsam fir — deep green, dense with resin, carrying that unmistakable scent of Maine in winter. Break a branch and the fragrance stays on your hands for hours. It fills a room. It's the smell of cold air, woodsmoke, and something quietly alive.
Birch — pale bark peeling in thin curling sheets, warm to the touch, full of texture and quiet character. We work with birch bark for candles and natural décor, drawn to the way it holds light and ages beautifully.
These aren't materials we chose. They're what grows here. The brand follows the land.
The forest sets the pace. We follow it.
How We Work
There's no production line. No warehouse. We harvest by hand, selectively and seasonally, taking only what the land can give back.
It's a slower way to work. But when you live on the same ground you draw from, it's the only way that makes sense. Balsam boughs grow back stronger after cutting — effectively pruning the tree. Birch bark renews itself season after season. We work with what the land gives, and it keeps giving.
When you receive something from Mainely Wild it's not just a product. It's a small piece of Downeast Maine — harvested with care, shaped by the land, and sent directly from our forest to you.
